Writing:
Why do so many students struggle with it?
What specifically can I do to help my child improve and gain confidence in writing?
What are the writing expectations for students in middle school? Are they reasonable?
These and other questions will be addressed through the presentation.
Though the session is geared towards parents, students are welcome to join.
Born and raised in New York, Barbara Moross holds a BS in Elementary Education and French from Skidmore College and an MA in French from Middlebury College. After college, she moved to France and has been here ever since. She taught in several Paris schools before relocating with her family to the suburbs. Barbara was the Lower School Principal of the American Section, Lycée International for 32 years. She is now retired and continues to help students through private tutoring.
She earned the Schools Attuned Program Certificate from the All Kinds of Minds Institute after completing the coursework in 2008. She has taught courses sponsored by AAWE to guide parents who homeschool their children in English. By attending conferences and taking courses herself, she stays up to date with what is new in education and best practice in teaching - especially in the area of language arts. She continues to be passionate about working with young people and helping them learn.
