A special event at the European Parliament brought to you by ACTIVE and hosted by MEP Marie Arena. We aim to bring together unique perspectives on the rapidly evolving European cannabis landscape, from policy experts to industry leaders.
From CAP reform to internal market issues, Europe is playing an increasingly influential role in shaping the next phase of growth in the global cannabis industry. For European leaders, this exclusive event is an opportunity to understand current trends and discuss challenges and opportunities for the 5 years ahead.
The conference will take place at the European Parliament in Brussels on December 12, 2019. Attendees will benefit from an afternoon of discussions covering some of the most pressing issues facing entrepreneurs, regulators and elected officials looking to create a safe and strong European cannabis ecosystem.
Cannabis is a topic that has gathered much attention in the past few years at the highest political level. The word “cannabis” refers to many realities from the types of plants to the various finished products with different end-uses (medicinal vs wellness vs social purposes).
This event has been thought of as a broad introduction. Several experts from agriculture to regulation through public health will bring more clarity on the distinct uses of cannabis. Several industry leaders will share their challenges and proposals to move forward.
By the end of the event, you will have a solid understanding of the different and autonomous “worlds of cannabis” - what are the stakes, what are the various interests, what are the site of struggles.
Our goal is that after the event the “worlds of cannabis” will be clearly distinguished in public perception including for subsequent events at the European Parliament that we are already planning.

Our event in London at Balderton Capital is summarized here
ACTIVE (Association for Cannabinoids, Terpenes, and Innovative Ventures in Europe) is a pan-European association uniting companies, scientists, thought leaders, and investors.
ACTIVE was founded in 2018 with the mission to create a safe and professional industry for all users, manufacturers, and vendors of cannabinoid-based products across Europe. In 2019 we published the first report on CBD in France, featuring the contributions of both experts and elected officials.
ACTIVE is organised as a full-service association. With our focus on content and event production, compliance guidelines, and bespoke services, we serve the full range of stakeholders interested in cannabinoids and terpenes. The goal of ACTIVE is to build an infrastructure to support its partners on a European scale.
