About this event
Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, or NASH, is the most severe form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). NASH is more than a liver disease, it is a complex cardio-metabolic disease with no approved treatment and represents a growing concern for the medical community. It is estimated that 12% of the adult population in the US has NASH and most are undiagnosed. This spectrum of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is growing to become the most common chronic liver condition in Western populations, in relation to the obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemics, and the prevalence of NASH is also expected to increase.
In this conference, well-known experts in NASH will provide information on the disease progression and outcomes and discuss the challenges that the medical community faces. The speakers will also present current scientific, medical and advocacy projects aiming to address the public health crisis that represents NASH.
The conference is open to healthcare professionals, representants of public health authorities, patient groups, professional and academic organizations, patients and their family, industry.
